The International Real Estate Society (IRES) is a federation of regional real estate societies. Each Society maintains control over its own activities while participating in the federation to get the benefits of global cooperation. The mission of IRES is to:
The
Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES) was established in 1996 with an aim to
produce and disseminate real estate related knowledge with particular
emphasis on Asia. Starting with 60 founding members, AsRES has grown
rapidly. In a short period, AsRES has established its presence in Asia by
holding conferences in Hong Kong, Taipei, Hawaii, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul,
Singapore, New Delhi and Sydney. The next meeting will be held in
Shanghai (2008)The
last two meetings were held in
Vancouver (2006) and
Macau (2007). The largest AsRES conference was held in Beijing in 2000,
where over 500 participants with 54 paper sections (a total of 256 papers)
and 12 industry discussion panels. The meeting might be the largest real
estate conference in the world to date. Except for the founding meeting, all
other AsRES meetings had more than 100 research papers presented at the
conference. In 1998, AsRES established its official journal (International
Real Estate Review). The AsRES offers a great opportunity for anyone who
would like to learn more about Asian real estate markets and to interact
with real estate educators and professionals in Asia.
The Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (PRRES) was established in 1993 to provide a formal focus for property researchers, educators and practitioners in the Pacific-Rim region. The Society has over 120 members from Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Korea. The Pacific Rim Property Research Journal is the official quarterly refereed journal of and is intended to offer academics and practitioners a forum for the dissemination of the latest ideas in property research in the Pacific Rim region.
The Latin American Real Estate Society (LARES) was established in 2000 as another regional real estate society under IRES. The Society is a service organization, non-bureaucratic, whose main goal is to diffuse information and knowledge between the real estate professional and academic communities through publications and technical meetings. In August 2004, LARES held its fourth annual conference in San Paulo, Brazil.
Founded in 2009, the Middle East North Africa Real Estate Society (MENARES) is a pioneering organization in the MENA region which brings together industry leaders, professionals, investors, public sector officials and academics, in an aim to foster discussion, enhance research, expand cooperation and put forth action plans to enhance professionalism and improve education in the real estate sector. Mission: To improve communication and exchange of information; to encourage research and promote education; to facilitate cooperation among Society members; and to promote professionalism among industry leaders, practicing professionals, investors, public sector officials and academics in practices related to real estate and its closely allied fields. Vision: MENARES envisions a real estate industry which is resourceful in terms of research and data, deeply ethical, and committed to excellence and transparency. The Society strives to realize an industry that shares knowledge and information, allows real estate to cross borders seamlessly, and facilitates communication between all parties.
