The Alpha Sigma Gamma Society was created in 1993 to recognize the scholastic achievements of students in university real estate programs. ASG also recognizes the participation and contributions of real estate faculty and the real estate professional community in real estate education as faculty and honorary members. Sponsored by the American Real Estate Society, Alpha Sigma Gamma currently has twenty-eight chapters and over 500 members.

The President of Alpha Sigma Gamma is Forrest E. Huffman. In addition to serving as president of Alpha Sigma Gamma, Professor Huffman is a professor of real estate and finance in the Fox School of Business at Temple University. He has published in numerous academic real estate journals and has taught a wide variety of real estate courses over a 25 year plus career. He has served as a consultant for private firms and state and local governments. He is a frequent interviewee by local, regional and national media on real estate markets and trends.
