Chapter President’s Resource Page

Membership in the Alpha Sigma Gamma Society is a unique method of recognizing the academic excellence of real estate students and the contributions of real estate faculty and local real estate professionals.

Faculty interested in starting a chapter of Alpha Sigma Gamma on their campus should first contact Professor Huffman to request a chapter creation application form.  The chapter creation application form will require the designation of a Chapter President. A Chapter President Responsibility Page will be included along with the chapter application.  There are no chapter creation or chapter president application fees. Once approved, the chapter president will receive a Chapter Acceptance Certificate and a Chapter President Membership Certificate.

The new chapter president will also receive a copy of the Alpha Sigma Gamma Constitution and Bylaws; and a copy of the Alpha Sigma Gamma Initiation Guidelines.  Initiation ceremonies are optional and may be adapted to fit the needs of the chapter.  In addition to the above items, the chapter will receive a supply of Alpha Sigma Gamma brochures.  Additional brochures are available on request without cost to the chapter.  The chapter will also receive a template of the brochure that can be used to print additional brochures as needed.

Finally, the chapter president will receive a new Membership Application Form which should be filled out by all students requesting membership and signed by the chapter president.  Beginning January 2012, membership dues are $40 for a lifetime membership.  New members receive a membership certificate, a lapel pin and a complementary copy of the 2nd edition of The Commercial Real Estate Career Education and Resource Guide

Please note:  Checks should be made out to THE AMERICAN REAL ESTATE SOCIETY or ARES, and not to the Alpha Sigma Gamma Society.

Turn-around time for certificates is normally about two weeks from receipt of membership forms.  All forms should be mailed/emailed to Professor Huffman at the address given on the forms.  Please make sure all member names are correct and legible.  Any errors or changes to certificates should be sent to Professor Huffman.

Rush jobs and express mail delivery may be possible but are not guaranteed available.  Please allow adequate notice if certificates are needed on a specific initiation date.  Please contact Professor Huffman by email or phone for information regarding availability of express delivery.

We are always ready to support the creation of new chapters and new members and answer any questions regarding initiations, chapter activities and chapter president responsibilities.  Please contact Forrest at fhuffman@temple.edu or 215-204-6675 for any questions you may have about chapter creation and membership requirements.
